A couple of screencaps from Skyfall show Daniel Craig with a PPK, so it's likely he continues using it in the latest instalment; unless of course, it's just a promotional thing like it was in Casino Royale - promotional posters and pictures show Craig with the PPK, despite his use of the P99 in the actual film. Time will tell, naturally.

Re: 25 civilisations that should be added as DLC for Civilization V: Part One

Great article, but IMO, Austronesian empire (or Malay, but quite erroneous) should have been included. It's one of the most extensive and longest existing empire in the ancient world (much than of Rome). They've also had extensive technologies and innovations in sea warfare and travel aside from exemplifying the advantages of thalassocracy and patronage-based federations.

Re: Review: Goldeneye 007: Reloaded | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

Good catch! I mistakenly thought the gun was another rename of the PPK (like the PP7 in the original GoldenEye), rather than a unique firearm. I've since updated the review.

Turns out Bond also uses the P99 in Tomorrow Never Dies through Casino Royale before going back to the PPK in Quantum of Solace. I'll be curious to see which model he uses in Skyfall. Thanks again!

Re: Review: Goldeneye 007: Reloaded | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

Actually, Bond uses a Walther P99 not a PPK in GoldenEye Reloaded.

Re: Humanity and Video Games: the Pressing Irrelevancy of Gaming

The "problem" with videogames is zeitgeist. We're inside of an era where entertainment is the most relevant form of art. If a piece of art is not entertaining, it is irrelevant. You're not going to convince me that blockbuster movies, books and musicians (or those who strive for relevancy) don't emphasize enthrallment beyond content, intelligence, complexity, deepness.
Same thing happens with videogames.
Maybe the story we tell would had been different if Pong first showed up on 1800 and Katamari Damacy on 1850.
Finally, historically, art was never intended for the masses. Swap videogames with music, place the spotlight on any critic so an opinion about music can be heard, he'll talk about Lady Gaga, Madonna and Britney Spears and how incredibly empty, engineered and produced music is and how that could never be called a true Art.

Re: Where's my political simulator?

You are all too right, my friend. I just cant buy it, i want to but I can't

I truly hope your right, if this ending is reality... Well its just god awful.

I think the fans have the right to be pissed. whether this was a set up for DLC or not this ending was just bad, I'm a huge fan of the series and this ending almost ruined it for me. every time i've played it since i can't help but remember that all this awesome story is going to wind up in the shitter.

god i hope your right though...

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

While I agree that people need to tone down the hate being spewed towards Bioware, this article comes off as a touch smug. The way this reads, the author appears to be looking down his nose at those gamers that didn't "get" that the ending to ME3 was all about indoctrination, which at this point is merely speculation. If the IT proves to be correct, than I tip my hat to Bioware for pulling off a unique twist to their story (though I'd still flip them the bird for making me acquire more DLC just to get closure). But as things stand now, I think there are perfectly valid reasons why people should feel frustrated with the way ME3 concluded.

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

Indoctrination HYPOTHESIS is a bag of crap for one, simple reason.

We don't know if it's true. Ending is not clear, in fact, it's full of loopholes. I don't care about the ending per se, catalyst/indoctrination/galactic death blah blah blah... i just want to know CLEARLY what happened. Right now all i have is a huge mixture of unexplained bullshit. And when they present ME3 as the game "with epic conclusion, where all your questions will be answered", i feel disgusted. BioWare did not only spit in my face with the ending, they took a dump on it and rub in all over my body just for the balls. That's how i feel. I want closure and clear explanation, as i was promised, and i don't have it, ergo. I paid for something and got something totally different.

Re: Activision removes potentially leaked Black Ops 2 multiplayer details and release date | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

Wish the industry would go back to making games all about the single player :( call of duty's MP is way too packed now!

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

You make it seem like Mass Effect 3 was trash from start to end. The game contains the best dialogue and combat the series has seen. While you might not like the way the game ended, saying that it took down the entirety of the experience is just plain ignorant.

A leak is just that, a leak. The game wasn't out yet and people like yourself who read it and automatically assume it's all going to be exactly as it is are foolish in this belief. Never judge anything until it's completed and why you'd deprive yourself of experiencing the surprises when playing through the game just baffles me.

Writing a review is based on the core experience of the game, not what came before it, interviews, leaks or new talent.

You sir, are the one trolling.

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

As I said in previous posts, originally it did.

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

As I said above, between everything I've been doing lately I wrote the article over the course of the week. Angry Joe originally hated the ending so much he had the 10 reasons video that I linked to. What I said was about that, not what he thinks now. Still, it's great to see he's motivated by something like this.

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

I really don't understand why more people didn't question all the different thing going on in the ending sequence. Did you watch that video I posted? If you had an open mind you also would have been questioning things like the black wisps on the edge of the screen, the nightmares and even Shepard's headaches with the Reaper noises attached to them.

So in response, I can't wait for you to find out that your unwarranted hate of this game is based solely on your will to see it fail.

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

I understand why you're upset and I do share the same point of view. Using DLC as a means to truly end a series is the wrong way to do it. However, the clever way they went about ending this game intrigues me. Not because of what's going to come after the game, specifically, but what it all lead up to. A giant trick. I'm a sucker for these types of things and just thinking about how the Reapers almost tricked you into helping them astounds me.

While it's supposed to be the end of Shepard's journey, the coming DLC hopefully will explain more of what happens at the end of the game. Even the that indoctrination stuff is right on the money, there's still plenty of unexplained events I'd love more information on.

Re: Kotaku, Angry Joe, Gamefront and why we all owe BioWare an apology | Gamer's Guide to Life.com

It took me a while to write the article, so yes, I did not see his latest work. I have a questing to you:" why people did not complian about the inception ending?", I even admire the beautiful ending that this movie has given me.You can not ignore all issue with endings and say, you just dont understand, or you should think more. I have deeply thought about ending as well, I have to admit that it has some brillian idea, but is this the right way to do it? And what about all promises that Bioware have given to thier fans, it does not matter too? I do not own an apology to the company that do not honor their word. And it's great and all to say it was a creative ending especially comparing it to Inception and Shutter Island. But it would be even better IF THEY ACTUALLY EXPLAINED THE ENDING! I wholeheartedly agree that the Indoctrination Theory is fantastic and if that's what Bioware was getting at, then I gladly kneel before them for incredible storytelling. But just come out and say what you meant to do with the ending! It's too confusing an ending to really even form coherent speculations. The current ending feels rushed. It feels like all that you accomplished in the 100+ hours you spent in the universe meant nothing. And it most certainly gave no hint at closure. They may very well continue the Mass Effect universe in other games. But my Shepard lived after the "destruction" option, and while he's still kicking he and Liara are hookin up again, Mass Relays or not.

Oh and that scene after the credits was incoherent bullshit meant to draw some final meaning out of an ending that had no statement about human existence.

Bioware for not trying.
Clearly ME3 wasn't their best effort. Critics clearly ignored all the
short comings when it came to the game and only focused on the positive.
Then they rated the game highly based on the entire series. Which...is fine. Not fine, but something you can overlook. What wasn't
fine was them turning against their audience because they disagreed with
their reviews. They went into a Fox News level of spin on this matter.
Fans wanted a happy ending? Fans are entitled? Fans say the entire game
is great except for the last few minutes so have no real point? Fans can
say they don't like the game but they can't do more than that? Fans
simply have to not buy the product, but are told by critics like us they
have to buy the product and they won't regret it, so the only way they
know if they will or won't like a product is if they do buy it? Only a
very few sites have gotten this issue right. Mostly Forbes. In the end
though, I sold my game and moved onto another game. Bioware is going to
keep digging itself into this whole until they decide the next game they
make they are actually going to give their best effort on. Oh and
critics will keep doing the same thing. "Agree with us and the video game
companies we don't take it easy on, or we are going to paint you as the
bad guys".
